Kalyanmoy Deb教授来我校做学术讲座

  20151126日上午10点,在中国科技大学西区三教3A109教室,密西根州立大学Kalyanmoy Deb教授受邀为我校师生做了题目为“Recent Advances in Evolutionary Multi-Objective Optimization”的学术讲座。该讲座作为中国科学技术大学研究生高水平学术讲座、“中国科大电子信息论坛IEEE CIS Distinguished Lecture Program的系列报告之一,由研究生院、电子工程与信息科学系、IEEE CIS Hefei Chapter共同主办。来自上海师范大学、西安交通大学、合肥工业大学、安徽大学等高校,以及我校的约70名师生聆听了此次报告。

  在讲座中,Deb教授介绍了演化计算的基本原理和主要应用,重点介绍了多目标优化演化算法的最新研究进展,以及在工业界的成功应用案例。整场讲座深入浅出、生动有趣,受到会师生的热烈欢迎。报告结束后,Deb教授还与部分老师和同学进行了较长时间的交流互动。

  Kalyanmoy Deb教授是国际演化计算研究领域的著名学者,IEEE Fellow, ASME Fellow,他2002年发表的NSGA-II算法的论文被Thomson Reuters评为最高引用论文和当代经典(the Most Highly Cited paper and a Current Classic),已有超过15,000次引用,他已发表论文的总引用次数(Google Scholar citations)超过75,000

  On Nov. 26, at Room 3A109, Teaching Building 3, West Campus of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Dr. Kalyanmoy Deb, Koenig Endowed Chair Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Michigan State University, gave a lecture titled “Recent Advances in Evolutionary Multi-Objective Optimization” to more than 60 audiences from Shanghai Normal University, Xi`an Jiaotong University, HeFei University of Technology, Anhui University, and USTC, etc.. As one event of the “IEEE CIS Distinguished Lecturer Program”, “USTC - High Level Academic Lecture Series”, “USTC - Electronic Information Forum”, the lecture was co-organized by the school of postgraduates, Department of electronic engineering and Information Science, and IEEE CIS Hefei Chapter.

  In his lecture, Prof. Deb introduced the basic principle and main applications of evolutionary computation, then focused on the latest research progress of multi-objective optimization evolutionary algorithms, as well as the successful application cases in industry. The lecture was interesting and informative, profound theories were delivered in a simple and lively way. The lecture inspired great interests of audiences. After the lecture, Prof. Deb spend a pretty long time to answer questions and discuss audiences.

  Prof. Deb is a leading researcher in evolutionary computation, especially in evolutionary multi-objective optimization. He is a fellow of IEEE, ASME, and three Indian scientific academies. His 2002 IEEE-TEC NSGA-II paper is judged as the Most Highly Cited paper and a Current Classic by Thomson Reuters having more than 15,000+ citations, He has written two text books and more than 400 international journal and conference research papers with Google Scholar citations of about 75,000+ with h-index of 90.
